Environmental Statement
Our objective at ING Car Lease is to manage our business so as to minimise the effects of our activities on the environment. We will set in place controls to measure the impact of these activities.
ING embraces the goal of continuous environmental improvement and bases its programmes around the combination of:
reduce
- re-use
- recycle
We also seek to implement methods of environmental management that allow us to identify each opportunity for environmental improvement, so that we may make improvements to our performance when these opportunities arise. In order to achieve our goals, ING Car Lease has the following key objectives:
To comply with the requirements of relevant legislation.
- To promote sound environmental management policies and practices through out the organisation.
- To enable us to achieve the above we are mindful of the following:
- To make efficient use of energy and water.
- The reduction of waste levels to a minimum.
- The sorting and saving of waste for re-cycling.
- To minimise the use of paper.
- To maximise the use of “greener" materials.
- Place more of our business with suppliers who minimise the impact of their activities on the environment.
- Promote environmental awareness within the organisation.
Environmental Policy
ING Car Lease is a service provider and as such we do not manufacturer, store or distribute goods. We have looked at the areas in our business where we can help reduce the levels of waste and identify areas for environmental improvement.
These being:
Waste
Through out the offices there are waste paper recycling bins, where all paper based waste should be placed. These bins are to be recycled through our preferred supplier. Each year/ quarter a statement is received indicating the amount of trees that ING Car Lease has saved by operating this scheme.
All other waste is disposed of through a contractor.
Computer Consumables
All computer toner cartridges are collected by “The Marie Curie" charity who in turn recycle the cartridges to enable to raise funds for this worthwhile cause.
Green Products
Where possible the use of recycled stationary equipment is purchased through our preferred stationary supplier.
Company Cars
Where possible all company car drivers are encouraged to choice the vehicles with lower emissions.
Power
We are always actively looking into ways to cut back on our use of electricity and water supply.
All heating and ventilating equipment is under a maintenance contract to ensure that the equipment is working as efficiently as possible.
Each water source is checked on a regular basis to ensure that it is of the correct temperature in line with the Health and Safety regulations.
We are currently looking at the efficiency of our water consumption and on ways to cut back on our water usage e.g. flushing system
